Jeannette Rechsteiner
Certified Fibromyalgia Advisor® and Certified Fibromyalgia Coach®*
Fibromyalgia is not only part of my professional work — it is also part of my personal life. From my own experience, I know how deeply this condition can affect everyday life: your energy, your sleep, your resilience, your planning, your family life, and often even your trust in your own body.
That is exactly why my coaching did not grow out of an abstract idea, but out of lived experience, intensive learning, and the desire to offer people with fibromyalgia support that is truly helpful both personally and professionally.
My journey
Today, I live a full and happy life and am no longer just in survival mode. I am deeply grateful for that — and also proud. Because this journey was not easy.
Fibromyalgia has been part of my life for more than 30 years. There have been many flares — some long and draining, others short and intense. The last severe flare lasted from autumn 2022 until autumn/winter 2023. In June 2023, I finally received the diagnosis. From that moment on, I began to engage with the condition intensively. By specifically adjusting my lifestyle, my nutrition, and the right medication, I gradually found more stability, joy, and quality of life again. That experience changed my life — and it also strengthened my desire to support other people on their own path.
What shapes me
I live with my husband Markus and our three children in the Zurich Unterland region. As a mother of three, I know how demanding the daily balancing act between family, obligations, and personal well-being can be. Especially with fibromyalgia, it is not always easy to use your energy wisely and not lose sight of yourself in the process.
Alongside my personal experience, I also bring an analytical professional background. I am a business economist (HWV) and financial analyst. This combination of structured thinking, personal experience, and genuine empathy still shapes my work today. Many people appreciate that I understand connections quickly, can structure things well, and at the same time offer calm, human, and clear support.
My training
In January 2024, I began my training at the International Fibromyalgia Coaching Institute, LLC® in the USA. In July 2024, I received my diploma as a Certified Fibromyalgia Advisor®, and in summer 2025 I completed my certification as a Certified Fibromyalgia Coach®. To this day, I am the only person in Switzerland with this training.
For me, this specialisation is more than a title. It gave me professional depth and a clear structure for what I had already known from my own life: fibromyalgia is complex, individual, and rarely solved by simple answers.
What I know from personal experience
I know how challenging it can be to live with pain, exhaustion, fibro fog, and the many uncertainties this condition brings. I also know that fibromyalgia often does not come alone.
In March 2024, I was also diagnosed with ADHD. That, too, was an important key moment, because it explained a great deal for me — including why my fibromyalgia had remained undetected for so long. From my own experience, I know that additional issues or diagnoses can make everyday life even more complex.
That is exactly why it matters to me not to reduce people to individual symptoms. I always see the whole person — with their daily life, their relationships, their obligations, their resources, and their limits.
Why I do this work
Because I know how relieving it is to be understood by someone who truly takes the complexity of this illness seriously. And again and again, I see how much can change when people stop only reacting and begin to understand their situation more clearly and shape it in a way that fits them better.
It is a matter close to my heart to support people with fibromyalgia in a way that helps them feel not only informed, but also seen, taken seriously, and strengthened.
My commitment
It is very important to me to strengthen awareness of fibromyalgia in Switzerland. Since spring 2024, I have therefore also been active on the board of the Swiss Fibromyalgia Association, representing the interests of German-speaking Switzerland.
My logo
You may be wondering why my logo shows a peacock feather rather than — as is often the case in the fibromyalgia world — a butterfly. Originally, a butterfly was part of my logo too. But I had to choose one symbol.
For me, the peacock feather represents strength, change, dignity, and inner transformation in a very special way. It symbolises that something can be delicate and powerful at the same time. It reminds me that change is possible, that beauty and strength may become visible again even after difficult times, and that you do not have to lose your own path just because it unfolds differently than planned.
If you feel that this combination of experience, clarity, and human presence is exactly what would support you right now, I would be delighted to meet you in a no-obligation introductory call.
